Buyers are needed for the Virtual San Bernardino County Junior Livestock Show and Auction. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the San Bernardino County Fair decided to cancel the annual event which included the livestock show which left several hundred fair livestock exhibitors wondering how they were going to sell their animals.
These young livestock exhibitors use the livestock show and auction as a market place to sell their livestock projects. The economic impact of not being able to sell these projects at auction would be devastating to over 200 4H & FFA kids. The SBC Fair quickly came up with a solution and decided to host a first ever virtual livestock show and auction. The virtual show will allow exhibitors to show, receive awards and sell their animals through a virtual auction. Buyers can bid on beef, hogs, lambs just to name a few and fill their fridge with fresh locally grown meat.
For those interested in buying an animal more information will be forthcoming on the SBC Junior Livestock Facebook page. If you want to help support these kids but don’t want to buy an animal you can always “add-on” an amount to a particular exhibitor. Forms are also on the above mentioned Facebook page or can be downloaded.
The Serrano FFA Alumni & Supporters, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity, has set up a SBC Junior Livestock Show Fund to help cover the cost of hosting the Junior Livestock Show and Auction and provide awards for the livestock exhibitors. 100% of the donated funds will directly benefit the 2020 Junior LivestockShow and Auction.
